I have just bought one more Sherman for my collction. This one is a Italeri Sherman Jumbo (kit No. 253). In the box the title is M4A2 Sherman Jumbo but I think this is wrong.
Does anybody knows this kit an what type of Sherman it is?

Hi,
The ITALERI 'JUMBO' it's not a M4A3E2 only a M4A3 that you can build into a nice one out of the box.
If you do a search on the foruns with SHERMAN JUMBO you will find some topics about it.

Yes, it is a fairly decent M4A3. I bought one for Nate (Porkchop) way back when I was stationed in Germany. It has since been reissued with the calliope rocket launcher and the hull has made an apperance as the M36B1 Jackson at the same time. The current Italeri USMC M4 Sherman still uses the basic welded hull that first appeared as the "Jumbo".

The Italeri Hull is decent, IMO, but not as nice as Tamiya's. The Italeri T23 76mm turret is fair, and the gun is wrong. It shouldn't have a step in the barrel. If it were me, I'd get a metal one. The turret has some shape issues, and if you don't want to get a CMD resin turret you can always disguise the Italeri one with sandbag racks or track armor.
If you want a Jumbo, be prepared to spend $$. The Tank Workshop resin conversion is superb, with new upper hull, turret, and metal 75mm gun. Very nice; recommended.
