Before long Milo, we are going to have the whole Alpha Company represented here. You have this one, Burik did A24, and I'm working on A11 and A13.

Just awesome Milo, looks has if it is going to start up and drive off the screen!!!!!!!!

Just one thing, I would definately spend the money and get some of Eduard's razor wire for the back instead of what you have on it right now.

Show some pictures from the top.

Thanks for the suggestion. I unfortunately never go to events and, taking into consideration my time limit, this was the best deal I could make. I am satisfied with it. Anyway, I like the way you weathered this Abrams. With these modern tanks its difficult to get it right

Thanks,
I building still A11 and maybe A24 me friend build A32.
About wire, I this change but from pics not clear if is razor wire or normal wire. I see some pics US vehicles
OIF with normal wire. I agree that razor wire on model is best. Next pics tommorow i have at home evening and this is bad po photo.

I'm sorry Milo, I'm building A11 also with A12 mine plow on it. From what Bob (Burik) told me, A11 and A13 was the last two tracks left before they got to Baghdad.

Looks very good!!

the only thing i dont like about the tank is the last wheel i mean that red/brown on it i do not know or it should be rust but i would make it a little darker.
but it still look great :-)

i'm gonna build me a A23 soon.

Another excellent build Miloslav.
I have to agree with Pete on the razor wire though, but it is a minor thing when I see your completed build.

I corrected myself, Burik did A24, SFC Olsons track. You might want to change up Milo and do A21 or A22 since Gijs is doing A23, then the whole platoon will be here.

This was posted here a few days ago but i don't know if you all got it and I forgot who posted, but her it is anyways. It is A Co. 2nd Platoons web sight. lots of good pictures, some will be familier since we did see them in Buriks Concord book.

A Co. 2nd Platoon Task Force 1-64

I see what Gijs is talking about. The sprocket, you may want to add sme silver to simulate the warn metal on the teeth of the sprocket on your next kit.

This site is Sgt Olson's site (my co-author). Check out the video, which is very, very interesting. It shows how much dust was on the tanks, even though they look clean. At least from what I remember about the short video you can see a tank up ahead shoot and lots and lots of dust comes off the tank - it looks like it got hit. I can't view it here at work so I am going off memory. This video is really two hours long and it is jaw dropping stuff. There is a part where two Abrams get hooked together with their bustle racks, and there is another where the camera tank's gun barrel hits a light pole (not jaw dropping, but funny).

Anyway, I like the subtle weathering here. Love the rain streaks. What colors and what paints did you use?

I'd like to see more photos showing the turret too. What is that behind the TC? Almost looks like a Javelin in its container. 1-64 used AT-4s.

Cheers.

Hi Bob,
Thank you in your helpfull because I can build this Abrams.
Base color is Tamiya buff mixed with white and desert sand yellow according to Testors US Army/ Marines sand. Rain streaks is oil color mixed and finished mig pigments with Ronson or Zippo petrol.
Tomorrow I make of next photo. What is AT-4? I dont know.
I find your publication but still mug's game, in Europe is very big problem with Concord distributors.

Miloslav,

It is a smaller anti tank rocket. Not as big as the Javelin and not as sophisticated. I think DML had them in a modern weapons set kit, and also in a Marine infantry kit from years back. Tankers were issued them in OIF1 since they anticipated close-quarters fighting and it would be too slow to try and slew the turret before the target disappeared - The TCs were normally in a crew exposed position anyway, thus they had M4 carbines and AT-4s at the ready for those "knife fights."

This is an excellent build, Miloslav! Astounding paint job. You clearly deserve to win whatever contest you enter it into!

Now I have something to aspire to--if I only become half as good as your are, I will have improved my skills immensely! Not to mention how fast you are. It seems that every day you've started or finished a project!

Just going to echo the group here, excellent job Milo! I have mine in the base coat as I am kinda afraid to figure the best way to paint the shading. I will definately use yours as inspiration, that is one of the best modern weathering jobs I have ever seen!
