Do any of you know if there are photos out there of the M4A3 Classy Peg during the battle for Manila?

I'm curious if I should add any stowed gear, and if so than what kind

Not exactly the greatest photos, but here's a few Video captures from a cheap "B" movie of the right side.

I posted a few other, larger ones in my Scrap Photos Gallery

In the Sherman Squadron in Action pg 37 there is a picture of Classy Peg. It does not look like it has open spoke wheels.

Interesting, I just checked page 37, and it sure looks like pressed steel wheels, and just watched the scene from a dreadful movie frame by frame several times, and it clearly shows open wheels. (I must be ill, watching it again over and over at 5AM) I wonder if there was a wheel change? Or perhaps two different tanks, either with the same name and art work, or similarly named tanks with the same art work? Amazing how one question brings up more!

Unfortunately zooming in only blurs the writing on the tank on the DVD. The movie is called "BackDoor To Hell" by the way. I wouldn't recommend running out and buying it, I got it as a 3 or 4 dollar special. Not really a good film, even Jack Nicholson couldn't save it. (He's a real young actor in the film)

The tac marking under the name looks like a circle in the film, IIRC Classy Peg had a diamond. Of course that could just be another blurring problem.

The classic photo of Classy Peg also appears on the cover of the Concord book on the Pacific War

Apparently the tank in the film is not Classy Peg

Philippines M4A3

Who's going to look at Pathe then?

Interesting, Just watched it a few more times, it only runs about 2.5 seconds, and it is a circle. Now I wonder what this ones name is! Appears to be the same art work, but also appears to be larger than the Tamyia kit decals.

:-) Now I know where they got the footage from :-)
Now I'll have to edit the photos :-) :-)

Last poster in the ML thread reads the name as 'Corrigedor'. Tamiya did get a bit of a bashing in the past for their markings for Classy Peg - making the cartoon wolf's head too small and filling in the tac mark, which should be in outline like the circle on the tank in the film.

Now I'll have to repaint my little diamond, and repaint my wolfs heads.... :-) :-)
I can live with it. :-) :-)

Thanks for the help guys.

Isn't Classy Peg also supposed to have the word "Solo" writen on the barrel?
