Hi,
I was wondering if there is a 1/35 kit of that tank killer? I did a few google search but didn't found anything.
In fact any info about some book reference, links, scale plans, pics... would be appreciated.
I already bought much of the StuG III variants, StuG IV, Jagdpanzer IV... and I think that this model would kinda close the wheel on the german turretless tank hunter design
Thanks

Hi Richard,
I posted some pics of a jagdpanzer in Belgian service on my site. Just click my banner.
I hope they could help. Concerning a kit I just know a kit by Tamiya years ago but can't tell about quality. I think there was a 1/48th kit too but can't remember the brand though.

Tamiya did one in 1/48 scale. It was reissued within the last 5 years or so with a wired remote control.

Tamiya did do a plastic 1/48th kit in the 70's to 80's. One was remote controlled, the other just motorized with rubber band treads and very little detail.
Here's one on ebay that's still available. Item 240000071518

I thought that Elite Modellbau produced a resin kit of this but I went to their website (http://www.elitemodell.de/ ) and it's down for construction.
I'm fairly certain they do as I've got their kit of the Jaguar ATGM carrier and they use the same chassis.
http://www.panzerbaer.de/types/bw_kanjgpz_90-a.htm
The best reference I know of is Fahrzeug Profile #12 'Panzerjäger des Deutschen Heeres 1916 bis 1996' but it's only 11 pictures of a 51 page book.
The George Bradford Kanone drawing that Gary referenced is a Belgian version JPK-90 but very close. Stowage is different plus the Belgian version has additional smoke mortars and mounts a FN MAG instead of MG3.

Hey Paul!
Thanks for the info and do you know a good source for that book (Fahrzeug Profile #12 'Panzerjäger des Deutschen Heeres 1916 bis 1996')?

I got mine off eBay a while back. But 've contacted Manfred Franzke at [email protected] in regards to potentially ordering others issues.

I forgot to mention that the text is all in German.

Hey Richard
If you want to scratch a JPK it might help that the JPK has many parts the same like the german leopard 1. Eg: Headlights suspension etc...
Cheers Roel

Now, that's quite interesting. Would the running gears and tracks from a Marder 1A2 be ok or do I have to find the old Tamiya Marder 1 kit?

Elite Modellbau's website is back up. Here is the JpK but at the current exchange rate the price is a bit high:
http://www.elitemodell.de/shop/catalog/details?shop_param=cid%3D8%26aid%3D3502%26
Plus it's going to be an all resin suspension which is scary in my opinion.

I have the Elite kit, it is one of their older kits, and very poor castings and accuracy IMVHO. If you get one, be prepared to do a lot of work to make it reasonably accurate.
About Marder components, only the BELGIAN version of the JPK used Marder roadwheels and suspension components, the German version did not.
Lionmarc (formerly Armour Workshop) do workable Marder tracks.
Cheers,
Christophe

Tankograd Publishing (a German firm, despite the name), has a lot of books and periodicals covering the Bundeswehr. I'd start there (Great Models and Squadron both carry the line). The books are bilingual German/English, and the magazines have English captions and summaries.

Thanks for the new input guys
The elite resin model is indeed quite pricey for my budget.
