I was shooting the breeze with the hobbyshop guy the other day and he told me to try on the model master paints or testor paints to use acetone as a thinner said paints dry dead flat and no damage to plastic. Anybody ever gave this a worl?

Not tried this Jeff, but acetone evaporates VERY quickly, and also the vapours don't do you much good, I certainly wouldn't want to be smelling too much of it.
