I'm looking to get this kit and was wondering what accessory packs are recommended for it? I'm looking at the Eduard standard photoetch and Zimmerit packs (35486 &35487) for it currently, but I was wondering if there was advice from experienced modelers before I lay down the cash.

Thanks,

Check out this site, http://www.bentbutnotbroken.com/RoyalModel.htm
You may wish to check out Aber products as I find them much more accurate than Eduard and the instructions clearer.

Just make sure what you buy is for the new Panther kits because the old grills won't fit the new Dragon Kits!! Great kit by the way !!

Fritz, hey buddy, bear is right on the money!!!!! all that stuff from royal models and cavalier are for the italeri and tamiya panther A's which are inaccurate and out of scale!!! there are some things for the new dml kits! Gumka has some nice sets for the DML kits!!!! And Atak models has a zimmeret set of the new A early (or is it D late as per my references)it looks to be a rather nice set for the DML kit and would work to add zimmerit to a D operating in italy!!!! good hunting stug

The early zimmerit pattern on the panther is fairly simple. So try doing your own zimmerit rather than relying on an aftermarket set. I used a piece of scrap plastic sheet and added a layer of squardon white putty. I gave it about 10 minutes to set up and using a straight edge and the back side of a #11 xacto blade I made the grid pattern of the early panther. The cool thing about doing it yourself is that you can simulate battle damage much easier than with the aftermarket zimmerit products.

Give it a try.

For panther style zimmerit I oncesaw a demonstration of how to use the tamiya zimmerit tools with wall putty. The result was great, much better than with eduard PE zimmerit !

Well, after looking at galleries last night, I figured out that I'm still up in the air over the model I want to build. Even though I know that the Panther from DML is a nice kit, I do love the late Panzer IV's with all their modifications.

Have you guys built any Panzer IV H's and if so, so you recommend any particular kit. I'm just finishing up Tamiya's IV J, which I assume is the H minus the side plates. Are there any IV's better than this kit from Tamiya?
