Hi,
I'd like to ask what are MIG Pigments? Are they the same as pastel chalk dust?
We don't have these MIG Pigments in the Philippines. I want to know if I can "substitute" these pigments with pastel chalk dust.
Thank you.

They are a range of pigments which, without knowing their exact composition, are pretty close to powdered pastels. The difference is, that they are pre-prepared and VERY imaginatively chosen for color. If you can't get the Mig products in the Phillipines then use a substute however, i'm pretty sure there is someone who actually retails them there - check Mig's site for the dealer/distributor list

I used to use pastel chalk, and the MiG pigments are definetly suprior. You can use pastels, but miG's are suprior, they are easier to get into solution, and the colors are generally better.

Ive heard some pick up pigments at art supply stores for considerably less money then what you pay for Mig pigments.. The pigments may not be as fine a grind but it may be an alternative...
