Gijs:

No track end connectors on the fender rods? I don't have my photos handy so I don't know if there are any photos that make this clear or not, but if there are no photos I would assume the end connectors would be there. Other tanks in the same platoon had them.

Nice job with the just visible overpainted marking.

Looking forward to more progress.

My question is, now that there are so many Aco 1-64AR tanks out there, who is planning on completing the rest of the company, ie M113's M88, humvees, and other support vehicles??

Hi Gijs,
Very nice, shortly A company is ready. I am one question, you use second bustle rack ( left side) from next
model or this is hand made. I wish this rack prepare(PE) for Abrams or Bradley.

Hi Ric,
your question is very good but is very small info about marking this vehicles.
I wish build HMMWV w/S-250, M88, M88A2, now i build still one M2A2.

Thats an interesting idea you have. Does anyone know what other vehicles are in the company??? This would be an interesting group build if anyone wanted to turn it into one. I would be willing to jump into the fray. I have an unbuilt M1A1 AIM, an M113A2, and a hummer sitting on the shelf. we're all a pretty close knit group here, and I for one think it would be cool to have a group build like this.

Gary

PS - HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

Well, I seem to remember Sgt Olson telling me he had a platoon of Bradleys cross attached to him/company. They were called the blue platoon - so would that mean the blue platoon of Abrams' Milo has been modeling was cross attached to someone else?

I know I briefly mention that in the book too, but I would have to talk to Sgt Olson to get the details. Maybe others here, like John or Gino, etc would know...

Yes, there was a PLT of Bradley's attached to each tank Co. They were from 1-15 Inf. Likewise, a tank plt was attached to each infantry Co as well. This makes each a Company Team and it is the standard way the Army fights. Just because they were also the blue plt doesn't mean that the blue plt of tanks wasn't still in the company though. You can still have a Blue Mech plt and a Blue Tank plt. There can still be two Blue (3rd) plts in the company, depending on which platoons were task organized. I don't know which Plts were cross-attached though.

There are 14 tanks in a company. 4 per plt and the CO's and XO's tanks. There are two maintenance M113s, 2 M88's, a few 2 1/2 ton trucks (either M35A2 or LMTV), a couple or 3 HMMWVs (CO and 1SG, maybe commo and maintenance). There would also be either 1 M981 FIST-V or M7 B-FIST (depends on the unit and M7 fielding schedule, 3ID had all M7s) for the FA guys as well. Maybe a couple HEMMT fuelers too, but they are usually consolidated at Bn along with a couple HEMTT cargo trucks for ammo carriers. Totals about 30 vehicles. As stated above though, you will have at least one plt of Bradleys attached as well. It could be more or less Bradleys depending on the mission though.

Here is a bit of interesting history on 1-64 AR for you history buffs. I was trying to find a comprehensive list of vehicles, but didnt have much success. However, this was kind of interesting.
