Hi all. Just finished the first & Second part of a 3 part build. This is a CLT dolly, which means CONTAINER LOAD TRAILER dolly system. Since I couldn't find a 30' commercial container I decided to go ahead and scratchbuild using some pics from off the net. The container is about 30 feet in 1/35 scale, at least according to the scale calculator that I used. I also had to kitbashed the small engine generators mounted on the dollies as I couldn't find one that looked right. So I just went into my misc. box and put something together that came close to the real ones. There are many variations on the CLT dolly so I tried to copy the real ones as close as possible with some minor variations.
The CLT dolly is being pulled by a Hemtt variant called the EPP which is suppose to haul Patriot missile laucher tubes. I found a pic of this when I was searching the net to find something different to model. Now, since I wanted to model both the CLT and a Hemtt vehicle I wanted something different. So I decided to put these two together. It probably doesnt' look protypical together but what the hell. In Iraq, everthing is possible, right
Hope you like the pics.

Pretty interesting set up Charles. Looks like it takes up a bit of table space. As usual, a really nice job.

Thanks. It does take up quite a bit of space but I made it so that it can be seperated to display on it's own in my glass case.

Thanks Don. I only meant that it was used for the patriot launchers. Just quoting what I read under the inscription of the pic of this unit that I saw. Then the theme could be adapted to the Kuwait scene if that's the issue. It should probably fit the scene as you mentioned. Thank you for the info anyhow.

Thanks Don. Yes I did scratchbuild the container as well. Still have more fdetails to add to the Hemtt cargo baed and air hose connection to it from the dolly. Also more cables between the rear dolly and the Hemtt. I have planned to put this into a dio with the theme of the Hemtt loading the container into C130.

Hi Charles. Original and excellent as usual. Love the dolly units .... you made something similar to these before or are they the same? I like the combination ... definately a stand-out model. Nice one.

Very nice and unusual.
I've found some pics from this sort of trailer on the web, but its not a container, but more surely a sort of shelter .

Thanks guys.
Giacomo, the Hemtt is from Italeri and the CLT is scratchbuilt. Frank, yes. I had built a clt before but I did not liked the out. So I decided to build another. Thanks Pascal. The clt can handle any variations of containers, big or small.

Here is the Hemtt variant I tried to duplicate for those of you who are interested. I didn't have the nato brown and green color so I just went ahead and painted it one color:.

Wow Charles, that is impressive! Not to mention original, and really well scratch built. You should make molds of your parts, copyright them and sell them. I have never seen a kit on the market like that before. Again, great job!!

I was reading through your post and was wondering what kind of diorama did you have in mind? It must be a long diorama. by the´way, how long is this model, complete with trailer?
