Hi all
Has anyone had problems thinning Gunze Sangyo Aqueous Hobby Color?
I tried water like the label says ,and after it frothed up in a mixing jar like an expresso coffee,it clogged my AB Mr color 50 and Mr color 110 thinner would not shift it,nor would clean water!!
A can of AB cleaner came to rescue.
Does this paint have a shelf life?as it was a bit lumpy at the bottom to start but my electric mixer sorted that.
This is a new jar and had never been opened before
I don't normally use Gunze paint and I've only ABed Gunze MrMetalColor before which sprayed lovely straight from the jar.
Is it me???

Andy,
Always use thinner manufacured specifically for the paint.
I'm a Gunze man myself. A bit expensive but I get excellent results consistantly. The thinner product number is 110.
My thinning ratio for a typical painting session is 50% paint & 50% thinner.
While airbrushing I drop my eyedropper and mixing test tube into a cup of water. After the session I clean my airbrush with gunze thinner (only) and take the eyedopper, water cup, and mixing test tube to the sink. Water does the trick - just as long as the stuff has been fully emersed into the water bath while airbrushing.
Good Luck

I always use Alchool (at least at 90%) or the Tamiya thinner and I never had a problem...

Which paint did you use. Some of the paints (rust, mud, soot) are not meant to be used in airbrush.
I use Gunze paints for years now and i never had any problems.
