Hi there,
some pics from my nearly finished Hetzer, it's build completely OOB, the kit was nice to build with good fitting, my problem were the tracks, I still need much more experience, painting was done with acrylics, some washing and drybrushing (no pigments were used), all in all I find it a little bit boring, some more colour?
thanks for looking
greetings robert

Robert,
The build looks good, I think the color is fine. Couple quesions for you: What brand kit is this and were the tracks individual links or the band type?
Sean

Hi Sean,
thanks for answering, about your questions,it's the Dragon Hetzer Command Version, kit no.6060. The tracks are individual track links, so I think it was my lack of experience.
greetings robert

It's a nice build you have here, let down maybe by the track links bottom run. What you could do to remedy this is to put it in a diorama or on a base, and make the groundwork correspond with the unevenness of the track links. In other words, uneven links, eneven ground!
Also, buy some Mig Pigments, they're the business and will really enhance your model and make it look more authentic. Nonetheless, your build is a very good piece of work, and the camo' looks top-notch!

Great model - a very nice finish.
The only thing is the tracks as you point out yorself. Maybe you could let the tracks set a little longer on the next model before you wrap them around the rear wheel? Then they would not come apart as they seem to have at least on the right track viewed from the rear.
The solution for this one might be a diorama as already suggested I have use that trick more than once
Nice job on the camo and the "blending in" of the weathering on the model.

Overall, I think your Hetzer look great. The camo is excellent and is faded nicely. The machine gun on top adds a nice little colour break.
When assembling indy tracks, I use testors thin cement to hold the tracks together. I can literally build the whole run of tracks and still fold them around the idler and drive sprocket. Then I add more cement to hold them and let them settle over night. Letting them set longer will avoid the problem you have here of the seperating when bending.
As mentioned already, the uneven bottom run can easily look great when set on a simple base. Roll out some putty or clay and when almost set, place some thin cling film on it and then push your Hetzer lightly into the ground work. Leave it over night and then lift it off. Carefully remove the cling film. Your hetzer has no clay/putty stuck to it and will fit nicely back in place again. Weather up the tracks a little more with a light mud mixture, and strategically hide the tracks slip as seen on the back on both tracks!
