Hello, I am trying to get the hang of airbrushing free hand camo schemes. I have turned the pressure of my air compressor way down (the dial shows 0-5 psi). I can sorta get it to paint smoothly but most of the time (98% of the time) my airbrush spits the paint out. I have tried all different ratios of thinner to paint. I have taken my airbrush apart all the way and cleaned it several times. I have tried adjusting the pressure of the compressor. I just am not having much luck with it. Any help would be appreciated.

I won't call myself an expert with hand-done camos, but you just have to find "your" setting. I like to generally have more of a paint-rich mix and slightly higher pressure. That way I can control the pattern with the width of the targetline. Sorry if this isn't specific.
I did think of one other thing, does your compressor have a tank? You might be having an un-even airflow, which in turn could cause spitting. Some paint pigments are larger than others, etc., etc.. If it feels like I'm grabbing at the air, I am - there are just so many different aspect that play in.
The general thing with spitting is thick paint and/or too low of pressure. My guess is if you keep you paint mix steady and play with the pressure you will find something suitable. Because in the end of all things it shouldn't be difficult... (remember I said shouldn't )
