This is the Tamiya Sturmtiger, I painted it with tamiya paints. I still need to build the sling on the wench and paint the figures and build a base for it. The black and white pic is what I used for a ref.
Tell me what you all think! Thanks

Does no one have anything to say? Just thought more people would be telling me things.

I am not familiar with the subject matter but the tracks look almost real to me. I grew up around heavy cranes and dozers and you really captured how tracks look rolling over the dirt where the ground tends to skin the bare metal of the tread edge and fill the recesses with a fine powdery dirt! Nice treatment.

Rob, great job on the camo and weathering of the tracks and running gear. The only thing I would suggest is adding a few scratches here and there to the superstructure and maybe darkening the inside of the cannon. AFAIK the Sturmtiger had a very smoky /fiery shell discharge. Anyhow, great job overall

As Gary sais, the tracks look almost real. Perhaps you could inform us how you achieved this look. Thanks,
Tony

Well since everyone seems to like the track here is how I did it. First the tracks are plastic ones not metal, just the standard ol dragon individual links. For the color of the tracks i painted them in Tamiya acrylic metallic grey. Next I give the tracks an oil was with Winsor & Newton Burnt Sienna which is also water mixable. I thin the oil paint with water. This gives the tracks a nice rusty dirt color in all the nooks and crannies. After this has dried all the way now it is time for the dirt. For this I used Doc O'Briens weathering powders. The color of choice is Dirty Brown, this is then mixed with static grass and 91% isopropyl alcohol. The mix depends on how thick you like the dirt. For more of a layer of mud go thinner, for more of the caked on look go for a thicker mix. Then I use a cheap ol testers brush to appy it to the model. Just remember to get under the model and the mud flaps. I used as many pics as I could find to see how the mud would appear on this tank. Once this was almost dried I took an #11 blade and scaped off the parts that would be showing bar metal. So I hope this helps....

A very nice build indeed, I agree with the gent above who suggested a darker metallic colour for inside the barrel, Otherwise AAA+

Hi Robert. Firstly, I must echo what all the others have focused on ... the tracks. You´ve made a great job of them and the running gear. But apart from the mud around the lower hull, there doesnt appear to be any other weathering. Maybe because you´re not totally finished yet??
The camo looks great, but needs some filters to tie it together a little more and cut down on the "showroom" glare (IMO). As JGags has already pointed out, the barrel needs some weathering as well.
Its great to see a Sturmtiger again ... havent seen one of these modelled for some time.
