Has anyone done this?
I find that the MM Acryl line has a couple of shades and colours that are just spectacular, but I don't like the semi-flat finish it produces. Would I be able to mix in Tamiya flat base, and at which ratio, to get a dead flat finish with this paint...?

I've made no bones about my feelings for this stuff.
Why not get the shade you want and give it a final coat of Dullcote or PollyScale flat? You'd likely need to gloss up the MM to apply decals anyway and then flatten it back down. Seems to be adding a complication you don't really need.
that said, I have read of others mixing that stuff witj other acrylics successfuily but I don't recall a ratio.

Makes sense. Reason being I asked is that thus far I apply gloss locally to where decals go, then paint over with a batch of Humbrol acrylics flat coat, which I cannot find anymore. Further to that, I don't spray anything enamel based, and I can't find any acrylics flat coat at my LHS. For some odd reason he's never stocked it. I just wanted to see whether this would work.
I mix Tamiya shades with MM shades all the time with no real problem, so I assumed this would work.
Maybe its time for some testing...
EDIT: Ive never used Tamiya flat base...are there any known problems with it...

Zokissima,
If you use too much of the flat base it turrns your finish opaque.

Out of curiosity, what about using Model Master 4636 Flat Clear Acryl, either as a mixer or as an overcoat? I haven't mixed different manufacturers, but I get the feeling they won't mix the greatest. Sticking with products from one manufacturer, should do ok.

I don't know if it would give you great result. Tamiya is an alcool based and MM acrylic is a water base. I never tried MM with tamiya but I use Vallejo (water based too) and when I'm mixed these two, they coagulated and formed a paste ... So probably gonna do the same thing with MM and Tamiya. But you can mix flat base of tamiya with tamiya clear ... (35-65) or MM flat base with clear ... Even future+flat base

Flat base used by itself will leave your model milky white. Too much in the paint will shift the color towards a milkiness.

Flat base is definately tempermental! I agree there is no reason for the paint to be dead flat before applying a clear. Actually paint that has a touch of semi-gloss to it will change color much less then a true matte when cleared. Truly matte paints tend to darken somewhat when cleared. If you spot clear areas for decals on very flat paints you will most likely see the darker shade.

I use Polly-Scale flat finish as a final airbrush coat.....its acrylic, works great and it's dead flat.
