Hi all, here is a question by a fellow modeler about this tank I'm not familiar with.
Quoted Text
I model 1/35-scale armor - mostly post WWII. Several of the tanks from
this era have been modeled by more than one company so one would think
that they are running out of good subjects to do. What I can't
understand is why no modeling company has yet brought out a model of
the U.S. M103-series of heavy tanks. These tanks are like an M-48
Patton tank on steroids! They are one of my favorite armor subjects. Do
you know if any company intends to bring out a model of these tanks
anytime soon? If not, why not? Aren't the model companies aware of
this very desirable modeling subject? Thanking you in advance for your
help.
Thanks for any input I could relay to him.
Olivier
PS : a picture would interest me as I'm just curious to see what it looks like.

There are several of them here on post and one in town. I've also got an old photo of one that was used as a target at Ft. Drum. There is a resin kit of the M103 by Commanders. I do not know think they still make it since they dropped their entire armor line (
http://www.commanderseries.com/). Did Accurate Armor make one too?

Thank you all. I guess this is a good start to give him some clues.

Accurate Armor has announced an M103A2for future release.
I've been dying to build one of these myself. PReferably in plastic, byt resin will work.
