I saw some Daley Rowney oil paints/oil thinner at Walmart.

Are they any good for washes or other applications? If anyone has good experiences with this brand I might pickup a set.

Thanks,
Ronnie

I've had no problems with DR oil paints. I've use their "normal" line as well as the student line for both washes (over acrylics, enamels and oils) as well as for figure painting.

As a thinning medium for washes, though, I prefer to use either Humbrol Enamel thinners or distilled (pure) turpentine.

Thanks for the reply. So you wouldn't recomend their brand of oil thinner?

Hi Ronnie,

The only reason why I cannot endorse it is because I haven't used it Generally though what I have found is that with these sorts of "artist" thinners you can get something similar for a fraction of the cost from your local hardware store

Fair enough. Good advice on the hardware store.
