I just got the infamous Dragon Wagon by none other than my most incredible wife! :-)

Wow, what a kit. I feel like stiff-arming the work-desk and starting it now...but I'll wait a bit. It's killing me.

Gunnie, I'll be calling on ya from time to time on this baby! Starting now. What are some of the best after-market kits for this? TIA

I figure it'll take quite a bit of time to complete such a monster of a model, so I'm putting in my LOA form...just kidding!

*I could never leave here!

Ken,
Good luck with it. Is it with trailor or without? If with are you going to do a transport AFV with it? I too got some mad money for my birthday. I was actually looking at the FAMO with trailer kit at my local hobby store.

Cheers,
Jim

Yes Jim, it's with the trailor, and yes again, I'm going to do a transport AFV with her...it.

I also looked at the Famo with and without the trailor, but I just can't resist OD green for any other...yet, was tempting though.

Wellll Doggies - you've got some work cut out for 'ya - but it's gonna be FUN!!! My wife got me mine too - one for Christmas - and one for New Years (when I pouted and told her it was so nice I didn't want to build it) THAT never worked again!

I pulled mine out this weekend for a little "spring cleaning" - as if you need anymore inspiration! Give me a shout out whenever you like 'bout the kit - I'll help in any way I can Ken!

What a great kit,got mine for Christmas 2001,opening the box was a true modelers dream,I could not believe the amount of parts and the quality of the moldings. It still sits unbuilt, but I should be starting it later on this spring. This one should keep me busy for quite a while! :-)

I got mine at a 1/2 price sale at the local hobby shop a few months ago. I'm still in awe of that kit. One of these days I'm sure I'll start it.
Ken..good luck. You can fill the rest of us in on the pitfalls.
Gunnie...*very* nice work.

No Paulo, the running gear on the Hell Cat is oversprayed with a black/brown muddy mixture. At a distance it all blends together, up close you can see the differences in color, texture, and details. That's what it should look like, if you were standing at the same distance the camera is away from a real one.

I'm looking for all available after-market kits for the M26 and have found 5, all from Eduard.

# 35238 M26 Detail Set
# 35241 M26 Boxes and Panels
# 35371 M26 Exterior Set
# 35382 M26 Interior Set
# 35396 M26 Trailer Detail Set

Are any of the above kits redundant?

Does anyone know of any others that are out there? Gunnie?

Let me check for you - I'm leaving work now - that is if Sabot doesn't beat me too it

When I built mine - there were no aftermarket sets! I did it all, all by myself...

WW2 soft skins are not my ballpark Gunnie. I have seen them in my local shop for $20 a piece. Lot of money to add to the kit.

Ken, I went digging around a bit last night (between "Honey-Do's") and found a little more information.

Perhaps the most useful, all-around, detailing set for your new Dragon Wagon model is the kit from Royal Model. It goes for $44 at R&J Enterprises.

The five Eduard sets will add up to around $100 if you got them all and you'll run the risk of purchasing a lot a photoetch that you decide really doesn't improve the kit details - and is a step backwards in some cases, but that's how it is with a lot of detail sets. I think if you go that route, all of these will prove helpful:

Eduard #35241 - Dragon Wagon Boxes & Panels - going for $15.45 at Great Models Webstore.

Eduard #35238 - Dragon Wagon General Details Set - also going for $15.45 at Great Models Webstore.

Eduard #35382 - M26 Interior Set - for replacing the Ammo Storage Racks alone - I had to scratchbuild mine! It's going for $11.60 at Great Models Webstore.

I wasn't able to find an image to link for you to see Eduard #35396 - M26 Trailer Detail, going for $15.45 at Great Models Webstore, nor Eduard #35371 - M26 Exterior Detail, which is also going for the same price at Great Models Webstore.

This doesn't even cover what model you intend to "park" on your M15 Semi-Trailer

:-) Ken,
Do check out the Tank workshop they also do excellent replacement tyre sets. The best that I know of. They're much longer lasting than their vinyl counterparts, and you should easily find them stateside. Any difficulty locating let me know, but I think Hobby Depot sells them. You might want to consider the Collectors Brass set of brass add on tools both singularly, and cast in situ in their rack. A point .050 cal if your feeling really flush can come from our buddie Verlinden in his new, Value pack, cheapie series. Alternatively Collectors brass once again do some SPIFFY complete and easy to mount items. Well woth a look are the numerous stowage gear sets offered by Custom dioramics; Yellow Submarine et al. I know a lotof you prefer to do your own, but some of us are unfortunately not masters of our time schedules, and suffer from a touch from the resinoholic syndrome

My 2 Euro cents worth. Only worthless in Europe!

Jack be slick Tough thing trying to keep a resin to plastic balance of power!

Wow, thanks Jim. I added that one to my favs. resource folder! Nice pics. I really like the warning planks added. A nice color contrast.

Thanks Capt.Jack. I'm still in the process of looking for all things DW. I haven't yet determined what or who's AM kits I want to use...if any.
