Been getting alot of work done lately as you can see from my M1114 on the other post. Well, here is some in progress wrok on my M1A1 AIM.
Thanks to Milo spitting out all those Abrams, he has given me back some inspiration to finish mine.
Aslo thanks to Bob(Burik) for providing me with good pictures of the the tracks I am building.
Here we have A14 from Alpha Co TF 1-64 during Thunder Run. This beast will be accompanied with one of it's other brothers, A13. Also, A12's mine plow will be attached to this track once all complete. As you can see, I still have alot of work to do.
I don't think i will be able to keep up with Milo though!!!!!!!

Nice added details, like the chains on the M2HB and loader's M240 cradles.
Something that I noticed though...the cal.50 ammo tray seems to be tilted upwards - is that correct?

Pete,
The bars on the left side of the turret look bowed. Are they the plastic ones from the kit? Is there a fit problem with them that creates this? The battleboard has a nice wood effect. Looks like you used the PE chain for the .50 cal. I used that too for my build. I may not use it the next time. I am not sure I like the flat look of PE chain.
You can give Gijs any photos I gave you. It is hard to find them sometimes.
Looking forward to more progress. OVerall it is very nice!

Yea the left side rails will bow, mine did the same thing but the id panel is covering it on ALL BOUT DA BONES so I didn't bother to correct it. I looked at it briefly and it seems if you filed the tabs on a couple of the mounting areas a little bit it would sit right.
Looking good Pete! I'm right behind you in level of completion, keep us updated! Oh, and how are you handling mounting the spare road wheels?

Gijs,
Yup, I have the mine plow, it's the one from Trumpeter with alot of missing detail added. Sned me a good email address and i will send you the pictures that Bob sent me.
BT06,
Yup, it deas look to tilted, but I'm ok with it. I might try to fix it later.
Bob,
They are the kit bars, but there will be a camo net bag right over that spot so it will cover it. The battle board is real wood, bass wood. I painted Tamiya clear gloss over it and the decal snuggled right into the grain with a little solvaset. I need to ad the black zip ties to the board. The 50's chains are from a Royal Model photo etch chain set. I got the loaders gun chains from an Eduard hummer set and I think the look better so I will use them on both weapons of A13.
KB120,
I have some spare AFV M1A1 tracks and might try to cut ot the center connector for the spare wheel on the back. but hen, it will be filled with gaer and you won't see it.
