Afternoon Frank,
Looks great, the figures have worked out really well. An interesting setting, bring an otherwise dull subject to life. The truck looks great - did you build it OOB?
Good use of the simple dio parts.
Excellent, thanks for sharing.
Cheers

Hi Giacomo. Thanks. I read almost everything I find, on painting figures and try out different suggestions, but no matter what I try, I always fall back to what looks natural to the eye. There will always be little pieces of different styles on show ... even on the same figure, but hopefully I will find a style thats becoming more consistent.

Hi Alan. No ... some of the Eduard etch set was used, a few scratched pieces, some spare parts (stowage) and 24 US jerrycan from Italeri.

Great job Frank! I'm on with the others about the figures.Very nice indeed.Been a long time since I've seen a build of the truck, you did it justice too! Was it only used for water or was it a fueler also?Airfields?

Great looking truck. Mine wound up in the spares box. I decided to build an engine for it and cut the molded one out. Fenders fell apart. Had to Mk. one eyeball them to the frame. Experienced a wee bit if difficulty assembling the cab. Quit while it was still salvagable. Next year maybe.

I really like the pose on the guy looking behind the fence. I've never been crazy about the pose of the guy with the .45, but you've painted him quite well.

Excellent, amigo. Nice detail, painting and weathering. Nice work on the modified tanker guy out front. I like the dusty look, the extra jerry cans and gear - great touch. The fence and iron gate is perfectly done.
I have one of these old kits and hope mine comes out half as good as yours did.

Very well executed Frank. Love that water truck.
A little bit of ruble and some pebbles here and there on the cubble stones would make this beauty even better

Hi Jesper. Thanks ... and you´re right. It would add to the scene.
I wont do anymore work to this, though. Its finished in my books. But your comments have not fallen on deaf ears. Ive realised that several of my bases, eventhough theres no visible damage, are quite clean from litter, stones, fallen leaves, etc. Little details, but they do add a sense of realism. I´ll be keeping this in mind for all future projects.
Ive written an article on this model/base/figures, first for a very long time, and it will be featured on IPMS Stockholm´s webzine in either December or January. I´ll post a link when it happens.

Looks good to me too! and the suggestion that you have taken on board Frank about a bit of litter about the place would definitely help to complete your nice diaorama.
We all think differently, I never really consider a model "finished" and will pull one out of the display area that has been untouched for a year and give it a little finishing touch here and there, especially when I want to have a little tinker and don't want to have to start a new project to do so.

Gday Frank
Like what you've done with this!
The truck looks great (not an area of expertise for me though)
The figures are well painted too (for their quality!) The pants on the gunman are of a perfect shade...
The diorama has come up trumps, although I reckon some lighter dirt in the gaps of the cobblestones would make it 'sizzle' ...
One thing worries me though; there is a significant lack of 'bulge' on the tyres?
Cheers

Hi there
Great job! Nice work on the figures and the truck (long time I've seen that one) and the park gate. Also the little detail with the roadsign - telling the viewer where we are.
Good job. Inspiring, I must say.
Thanks for sharing

Great job Frank. The truck is great on it's own but it really comes to life on the base. I love the way the figures draw your attention away to what's happening in the scene with the guy opening the gate while the one with the 1911 looks like he means business.
Regards,
Rich
