Anyone for a desert war campaign for next year? We build anything that is painted in desert colors, or in desert camouflage (such as the Stuart Honeys), from WW1 to modern. Let me know what you think.

Of course if you hurry you can still take part in the WW2 Mediterranean/North African campaign that is currently on the go...
Club Med: Sand, Sea, Sunshine... and Bullets!
Better hurry... operation closes sharply on 31 December 2006.

Oh my! I'm so sorry. I checked the campaigns here in Armorama but forgot to look into Modelgeek.

Well, I been through the desert on a tank with no name, it felt good to be out of the rain.
In the desert, you can't remember your name,....'cause you're out there to deal some pain!
Hey, sounds like fun. I have a Panzer IV sitting around that might fill the bill. Now where did I put that sunscreen???

The US used a lot of equipment in North Africa during WW2 in standard OD colors and currently there are NATO camouflaged vehicles being used in the desert.
I like the idea of a desert campaign, but you may need to clarify guidelines for those of us who like to build US armor. Although I'd probably do standard modern sand colors.

Still got the M2 Bradley and the DML AIM kit so plenty to choose from.

HI Sabot! Yes, I realised there were also camouflaged M1s during ODS and OIF so are the US equipment during WWII. In that case, they're not included.
What I really wanted is a "desertised" version, wherein the tank or vehicle is painted in sandy colors and specifically used in the desert.

Hmm...I could do plenty for this. Maybe an SP artillery peice like the AS-90 if I have time, or a Merkava. An M113 or a couple jeeps if I have less time.

Let us hope it goes through. It could be really great to build a couple of desert vehicles. I am thinking PzJg I or maybe a Tiger I with those nice big turret numbers.
