Hey all,

Unusual question here, but I am asking for the information for a bridge that would be crossed mostly by WWII Russian armor.

Where are the "normal" hull drain points located? Are they just left and/or right of the tracks, more center of the hull, a combination of both? Take into consideration a US M577....left and right of the tracks (at the front) and [if I recall correctly] front and rear more or less centered.

I need to paint the inevitable oil drips (much like you see on the highway) on a bridge layer's cross members. I have no idea when it comes to WWII equipment, so I'm reaching out here.

Many thanks in advance!

Mike

[EDIT] - Duh, this is the specific bridge I'm referring to:

Mike,
A safe bet would be on line with any final drive housing.Even if the plugs dont dribble, maybe there would be "ooze" from where 2 parts of the FD case bolt together.
That IT28 bridge would need a lot of traffic on it to really show oil smudge...

Hey there Carl!!

Right now my 'bridge is "factory fresh." Ain't quite figured the dio I want to put it in, but I'm guessing once all is said and done, it'll be "used." Realizing that it takes either some seriously leaky equipment or a LOT of use to get a fair amount of "spillage," I kind of want to have the right modeling mindset going into it. Even a "good day's work" of vehicles crossing it are bound to leave something. I just want to be able to do it with reasonable correctness. Certainly I can do the "standard-data" and put some spots down the center, but....know what I mean.

When I started my IT-28, I was thinking more "static." Now, I really want to do a dio, BAD. And, as anal as I can sometimes be, this would be one of the little "nit-piks" I'd critique someone else's dio on. Yepper's, look at both sides of the story kind of a thing....look IN before looking OUT.
