So, I thought that I'd had just about every kind of screw up imaginable while building models, until two nights ago. I always drop a couple of very, very small stainless steel ball bearings in my paint jars and then seal them with plastic before I put the lid on. I'm sure most of you do the same thing. This way, you can just shake the jar to mix up the paint and not worry about getting paint in the lid threads or making a mess.
Anyhow, a few nights ago, all was going business as usual. I was mixing a dirty black color for the bottom of my goose. I put in a ton of black and just a drop of white and was shake, shake, shaking away. As usual, I got distracted and was thinking about how awesome it is going to be to get this model done, or some such thing, all the while shaking my little heart out.
Then it happened... A tick, tick, tick, tick across my floor. In a fraction of a second I looked down and there was black paint everywhere. I looked down at the paint covered bottle and was trying to figure out where it came from. Was the lid loose? Was it just paint that had dripped down the side when I was pouring it in. What was the ticking?
You guessed it. A ball bearing broke through the side of the jar. Since it is smaller than a BB, I have no idea how, but it did.
Crazy, huh?

That's some serious shaking! I might have to try that over the cat next time. :-)
