I have a question about AM barrels. I've never used them before, and i'm curious as how the fit to scale is(1/35). Products such as Armorscale, Lionmarc, and Jordi Rubio barrels. How much do they differ, ie: craftmanship, price, correct lenth etc, mainly for the late war shermans. All reveiws of the current sherman kits, claim the barrels are too short. I prefer to be as accurate as possible. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thank you "Wolfhounds"

Morning Wolfhounds,

Check here for a bunch of reviews on Sherman kits and accessories:

http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/subject/sherman.htm

I myself tend to like Armorscale and Lionmarc, excellent detail on both. I model predominately WW2 German stuff and Armorscales muzzle breaks are really wonderful. Give PMMS a look and then pick what best suits your project.

Model on,

Wolfhounds- Eduard has a barrel for the M3A3. Eduard barrels run about $6.00 to $7.00. I have used their barrels on my T-34/76 and T-34/85 kits, and have had no problems. In fact Eduard has a long list of AM items for both AFV,s and aircraft kits. I hope this helps. Cheers-

Clair, there are more than a few reviews HERE as well...

Regarding the original question, IMO, the best on the market are undoubtedly those by Armourscale followed closely by LionMarc and Aber. Jordi Rubio, are, IMO, products which have been somewhat superceded in both quality and accuracy....

If you're looking at the 75mm ones, Eduard, Jordi and Elefant got some bad reviews. According to several comparison reviews on Track Link by Kurt Laughlin, Formations is probably the only accurate one for the 75mm barrels, both early and late.
