Hey boys,
I am about to attempt my first painting of a Verlinden ceramic building, and have a couple of questions. First, do i need to prime it before painting? Second, which is better, acrlyls or enamel? And last, can it be washed with said paint after completion without damage? Any help would be great, cant start 'till i figure something out!

Ziggy, I'd say it's not completely necessary to prime it first, but you will find that if you give it an all over spray with a water/PVA solution first, you'll use a lot less paint. For painting it in general I'd say use acrylics, then you can use a spirit wash without fear of damaging it.

You might want to seal it first. The ceramic sucks up paint by the bucket.

Tapper, that's what the water/PVA solution does.

The stuff used by artists to prime canvas - Gesso, also works well. It just brushes on and you can by big tubs of it quite cheaply...
