Hey All,
I have a busted up T-34 model and was thinking of a small vignette showing it buried up to its top hull so that the turret can be used as a bunker, maybe next to a stretch of trench? I saw a captured British tank buried and being used by Germans as a bunker and was wondering if they did the same on the eastern front? I'm not talking about the specially made concreet bunkers with the turrets placed on top.
Anyone know of any photo sources that is if the germans did this as a quick bunker type thing against the Russians?
TIA

Yeah, I have seen the pictures of the Matildas buried in the desert as well. Could be a quite attractive diorama. Returning to you T-34 question.
I cannot remember ever seeing T-34s burried as bunkers, but I have seen it done with T-26s and BT- tanks. I cannot remember if it was a BT-5 or BT-7.
I think the Germans would have tried to repair a T-34 instead of using it as a bunker. On the other hand they might have used it as dug in bunkers in some places. There is always some artistic license so why not just go ahead with it. It could be a cool diorama
