Hey Andrew
You sculpted this?!
Most impressive...
I'd like to pick your brains on your methods... What did you use?
He seems to fit very well in the jeep.
I haven't been game to sculpt a head as yet, but you seem to have got the hang of it just fine!
Good stuff
Cheers

brad
i used stuff called fimo
you can get it in any art shop
well in northern ireland any way
its german stuff
you make the part and stick it in the oven at 130 degrees for 20-30 minutes and it hardens
i used fimo for all the figure parts except the heads which i did in milliput
i have over 20 or so of these figures done in different poses
painted as mountain troops
then i discovered last night that the same uniform was used by the commandoes in nw europe with the same skeleton assault jerkin
in the same cammo pattern as the dennison smock
so i used one of my sculpted heads i have with a beret
and there he is
i have all the moulds i made in silicone and the castings were done in resin that i got in belfast
the resin is a bit brittle but very strong
you cant carve it but it files great and i can work with it ok
it looks like im going to have to cast more of them all again and paint them all in cammo with berets
the range has 5 jeep crews too
the following photos show the whole range as it is at the moment
they can be painted just like the driver above in cammo as described above
ill be casting all of them again to present as commandoes both army and royal marine
i think ill do some running and jumping out of vehicle poses as they are designed as multi posed figures so i can fit lots of arms and legs together to make different poses
hope you like them
regards andrew

Impressive. Do you think you can post some closeups of the jeep crews? Is there one with a gunner shooting out the back?
