What is the best way to 'unstick' glue? Long story, but I stuck the wrong helmet to a figure, and I can't remove it!
It is one of those heads without the 'top' so to speak - it is cut flat above the eyes.
Can anybody help?
Thanks,
Harry

Sorry Jacob - it is standard Humbrol Poly-Cement.
I think that maybe the heat to melt it will also melt the plastic model too? Now that would be bad...

I can't reccommend melting glue, as you will probably get loads of bad fumes. My advice would be to cut off the helmet with a knife, but i cat think of ay other way.

Seems a lost cause. I'll stick with it, it's just annoying! (Like that pun!) :-)

Harry,
I have had luck using super glue de-bonder. I started building the Italeir 234/1 and put the suspension arms on the wrong sides of the hull. I tried super glue de-bonder and it worked. I had used Testors liquid cement.
However, use it sparingly. Try an old paintbrush to apply. .

Hi Harry
A very good question.
Try some chloroform or ether or a mixture of both if you can get it. Most plastic cements bond by melting the plastic to weld the two halves together. Chloroform will run quickly betwen the halves, dissolve the cement/plastic mix and (hopefully) give you enough time to seperate the two.
Use sparingly and apply with a paintbrush. Avoid the vapours (toxic)
Cheers
