I used to have a good photo of one from Desert Storm, but am unsure if I still have it uploaded anywhere. I will do a search of my gallery for it.

I'm no expert, but I think that one of the USMC mine plow distinctive features is the cylinder-shaped IMOD mine detonator hung between the 2 skids (instead of the "dog bone" on the Army plow ). This item is clearly visible on the picture showing "Big Payback". But maybe some Army plows are now fitted with the IMOD (as for the Army Panther II plow )
Talking about the pics above, just have a look at the smoke dischargers on the turret of the pictured tank to spot the USMC Abrams (8-shot dischargers vs 6-shot...)

Hi Gijs
no, there's no difference between the plows, as far as I know, but between the tanks...
Abrams tanks in service with the marine corps have different smoke grenade launchers, a different style extended bustle rack, the "MCD" (missile countermeasure device, fitted on top of the "manhole" located left in front of the loaders hatch), a field telephone and a frame on the rear to attach the deep water fording kit

Either Army or Marine M1A1's can have either type of "Dog Bone," you just have to look at the tank you are modeling. As Erik stated, you can look in my Photo Bucket album for parts breakdown of the plow. I don't have the parts breakdown for the large "Dog Bone," but I can just pull it of the ETM. They are both in the current Army parts manual for the plow..

I concur with my esteemed colleagues. The plows are the same, with either type dogbone. The basic tanks have the above mentioned differances between the USMC and US Army.

This tank is in fact, a USMC M1A1, not a US Army tank.

For markings of USMC plow tanks, check the Echelon USMC OIF decal sheets. They are in the review section here at Armorama. They show markings for a few plow tanks on each sheet.
