Has anyone built Trumpter's AS90? If, how is the kit? And, are there any AM kits for the model?

Hi Charles
If you mean the 1/35th version, Im building the very kit at the moment
The kit itself is quite good with regards to fit etc, HOWEVER the gun tube is about an inch too long. To correct this you will need to either do some surgery on the gun tube or get Accurate Armours upgrade set for either for the 39 or 52 calibre version.

Eduard also do a PE set for the kit as well which compliments the Accurate Armour resin set nicely.
It all depends on how much you are prepared to spend at the end of the day Charles as the AA updates dont come cheap
Cheers

I am building this kit right now actually for the Arty up campaign. Its not a bad little kit.
Mine has some flash thats required a fair bit of work to get rid of.
I have just finished up the lower hull and am starting on the turret.
Issues I have run into.
Plastic is very soft. I havn't built a lot of Trumpeter kits so I have no idea if thats par for the course buts it definilty softer then what i am used too.
Tracks Link and Length
Again the plastic is very soft and easy to break the little track pieces. Its been a bit of a challenge to get them together. I have ended up leaving off the upper run as its not noticable when the upper hull is added. Be sparing with the glue!
I have also used a sanding stick to carefully sand either side of the centre guide teeth and the inside of the end connectors They fit pretty snuggly if you don't and tended to pop apart when I tried to glue them together. Lost a couple that way!
Suspension
Had to fiddle a bit with the suspension arms and road wheels to get them to sit flat and straight. Not a biggie but it took a bit to get them to look right.
The Instructions
They seem a bit messed up in regards to the track assembly as they seem to show less pieces needed to assemble them then what I actually used. That might have just been me though as I havn't done alot of link and length.
They give you a whole pile of decals with very little information as to where they go. I think decals for 8 vehicles are provided but the intrstructions only show one complete vehicle and just one side of another. I am still trying to find some good reference pics.
One thing to watch for is the drivers hatch. The instructions shows the pieces to be assembled but you must rotate it 180 degrees before gluing it I got mine backwards and it was to late before I noticed it. The plastic is too soft and it will be a bigger mess to fix it I think. Just have to be more careful next time.
Hope this helps.

Thanx for the info. Looks like I will need to get one. Now if only either Dradon or Trumpeter would produce the 109 series and MLRS
