I often don’t have a set mixture pattern. But looking at my MM thinner can, it calls (gloss) 3 parts paint - 2 parts thinner, (flat) 3 parts paint - 1 part thinner. Most often I mix my paints to a consistency of milk. This seems to work the best.

As Mother says, I thin to "the consistency of milk." I don't use any set ratios either.
