I don't know what to do with the steel wheels on my t34/76, What color should you paint the outer rim of the steel wheel? I am talking about the surface that comes in contact with the track.

I use something like Gunze's iron or dark iron metallizer paint. It looks like the paint is worn off without looking like it's chromed.

I panted one black then went over it with graphite power (Pencil lead ground up on sandpaper then brushed on with a paint brush.) It looked great. The graphite made it to look like metal with warn away paint. You can vary the effect by how much graphite you apply.

I do something similar to what the previous poster does with a pencil. I just take a normal sharpened pencil and color the rim with the edge of the pencil lead. The original paint color is somewhat evident.
