6? Man, that's like 23+lbs of Tiger plastic to build! Guess its not such a "CH Exclusive" afterall.

well two are gifts, one for the stash, and probably 3 different Tiger builds from the same kit, since Dragon does not feel like making Tiger kits easilly accessable for modelers, and I'm not paying $160 for one later because I waited.

The ad says CH kits are "normally loaded with bonuses".... well, this one isn't.

I have two of the initial kits and two of the late 6252/6253 so I should be able to make SOMETHING out of it other then the just the one tank??? I would probably do up the Tunisia scheme on one even though the filter canisters and exhaust shields are a little different, and maybe one in white-wash. I really don't care about 100% accuracy as the schemes look cool. There was also one that was grey with yellow streaks on it for camo I saw one time but am not sure of exactly what the markings were.... Although I think I can rob the proper exhaust covers from 6253 and the smoke launchers from 6252.

Well, as I said, you can build any Tiger made in a 4-month period, and that covers a lot of vehicles sent to a lot of units with a lot of paint schemes.

Your problem would be decals. But there are plenty of aftermarket decal sets for such a popular vehicle.

As an example, I am building mine as a whitewashed command tank numbered S04 which was also used by Wittman. I got my decals from a Tamiya kit. I have a build blog here: http://tiger1.info/EN/CH6350BuildingS04.html

Hi,

Yeah, saw the ad at Sprue Brothers as well. I went ahead and ordered one since I didn't know if, being in the Dragon USA's wating list, I was going to get one. The thing is, as soon as I placed the order with Sprue Brothers, I get an email from Dragon USA letting me know that they were getting ready to ship the kit. So, now I'll have two of these Wittman Tigers. I really only wanted one so maybe I'll give the other one to someone as a Christmas present or I'll just build the other one using a different marking. Oh well,

Rob

With the way Dragon issues tigers, it doesn't hurt to have a spare...

I saw your article on the S04 unit last night David. I was also thinking about winter for that one as I have a 6252 already finished in grey and I liked the barrell markings. They also have a set of decals for the Tunisia units, inlcuding the one from the CH kit, although the centers of the decal nubers are clear(I guess I could easilly paint them in on the sheet first). I wanted one in the various olive shades. If I am not mistaken, they usually have the parts to mount the headlights in either position in the initial kits(not that it would be hard to modify), I have to check when I get home. One company makes decals for the inital Tamiya copy R/C 1-16th (hen long??) and they had tons of killer schemes on that site-I can't find it now. The grey-yellow one looked awesome.

and they are out of stock.....

If I had the ducats, I'd have grabbed a few more when I had the chance at the release price...
