I am completing the superb Academy 1/35 M51 Super Sherman. Very nice kit although I think the drive sprockets are flaky, but they work. The question is what color is the interior of the vehicle? I want to open the hatched and would like to replicate the real one as much as possible.

About a week ago on either the History Channel or Discovery Channel, there was a show about Heavy Metal garages. They were working on an Israeli upgunned Sherman here in the US (Upstate New York?), restoring it to its pre-IDF WW2 glory. The interior looked the same white to me with a large dark metal breach block.

I just finished checking in several pictures of the Patton Museum's M51 and it is indeed white on the inside, er, that is under all of the dirt, grime & grease. You still hanging your hat in the DC area as a Beltway Bandit??? Geez, I miss Grand Dad's...
