Hi All,
This is Tamiya T-62 in 1/35 scale. It painted gunze and tamiya acrylics. Weathering oil colors, acrylics wash and pencil for chipped paint.
Enjoy.

Considering the negative write-ups I've seen on this model, it looks like you did a bang-up job on it. You stated you used a pencil for the chipping. Did you use a standard 2B pencil or something else? Keep up the good work.

Thanks all.
jeroen,
It is very easy buildable kit. It takes almost my one night.
Very recommended, plus very cheap than other tamiya kits.

Like nearly all Tamiya kits, it's an easy kit to build, but one of their least accurate efforts. Trumpeter is promising a new-tool T-62 in the coming year--if it's as good as their recent KV kits, it will be worth the wait. As this build shows, a good modeler can still create an impressive miniature from a weak kit when the construction and painting are well-done.

Nicely done Ayhan!!!
The kit imay be a little long in the tooth but you've shown that with a little TLC you can get a silk purse from a sow's ear.
Almost makes me want to build Post WWII AFV's again.
Keep up the great work!

I agree, really nice job on the kit. For OOB you have done a excellent job.
The Tamiya kit has some positive points:
-right now it is the only T-62 kit available.
-it is a good tamiya build, well engineered.
-it is relatively cheap to buy and easy to find.
But here are the problems that make it show its age:
-it is really 1/32.5 scale or so, and many dimensions are off...not just angles of armor, but also the width of the deck and the height of the lower hull.
-the turret is extreemly poorly shaped...their is no "undercut" in the turret under the mantlet and to the sides.
-tracks are poor, but usable.
-and for its tiem it was well detailed, but now it needs extensive work.
Not a bad kit to start out on or to use for practicing painting and as shown, it can be made to display very nicely. But it is a poor representation for those of us who "look under the skirts" and "kick the tires". :-)

Nah, I doubt anyone will come to the defense of the Tamiya T-62 other than saying that it looks like T-62 when compared to the Cold War photographs. Too many of us have built the kit when it was the only modern Soviet tank model available throughout the 80s.
You've done a great job on the old dinosaur.

I have to agree totally with Sabot on that. Though the work done on the kit (painting and weathering) is quite fine. The kit is....well it is what it is. Just wait and see what Trumpeter comes out with, I am sure it will be worth the wait it in the long run.

Yeah, I know, people need to communicate better. my goal in this is to:
1. Offer praise for a well done job. The build really has been done nice. No reflection on the builder that the model itself is poor, atoplu did good work. But I know what gary is getting at.
2. To offer insight into making the kit BETTER, or at least understanding its shortcomings. many modellers build their kits the way they do because they want to do something different but do not know, for example, that the T-62 turret is severly misshaped. I want to encourage people to look just a little beyond the box and maybe make a change her or there, helping encourage them to expand their model building skills.
But gently, or at least I try to. Just because the kit is a dog does not mean the builder should be berated for it if they do not want to put in all the work to make it more accurate. First, concentrate on the build/paint aspect. We all fall into this category. Then cover the accuracy/bolt counting issue. Or, as I say, not everyone who buys a car wants to know how to rebuild the engine. end -
Again, nice work. I hope to have my T-62M m2005 progress updated soon.
