Hey There,
Does anybody know of 1/35th decals for this unit and are there any weapon sets out there with the johnson light machine gun.
Cheers

Hi Ray,
Dragon used to have an Allied Weapons set with either the Johnson light machine gun or automatic rifle included.
I think it's out of production and I haven't seen the set available for a number of years now.
FWIR, the detail was pretty good but the sprue's gates were so heavy and the barrel so thin that you ended up either breaking or bending the barrel.
A lot of patience might do the trick.
My LHS has a large selection of old Dragon kits and I'll look for this set and let you know what I find.

BTW, my dad was with the 16th Canadian Scottish and before he was injured in a training accident in 1941, he was slated to go to Montana and join the 1st SSF as an instructor.
I have the unit's Crossed Arrow cap/collar insignia along with his Major's rank insignia that they presented to him after he'd recovered from his injury(A short fused Thunderflash took off the tip of his left index finger and almost severed his left thumb).
They re-attached the thumb but he didn't recover in time to go with them to Kiska and later to Italy.

Hi John,
Thanks for the info and pretty interesting about your dad. Osprey just released a book on the SSF, I got it for Christmas. I have several other books as well. I painted up the Kirin 120mm figure and now starting to put together a dio of the boys after the Anzio Breakout.
Cheers
