I read an article somewhere on the web a couple of months ago about a different zimmerit technique. Of course, I did not print it because I knew I could always go back to it. Now I can't remember where I saw it. The article showed how to use miliput. The writer showed step by step how to roll the miliput out on a flat surface using talcum powder so it wouldn't stick, then applied the thin sheets to the vehicle and trimmed it to shape. Anybody familiar with where this article is?

Patrick,
I think that the single best, most complete article on doing zimmerit was written by Paul Owen... his website tracklink has lots of other info about build kits also.
You can view the article at
http://www.track-link.net/articles/15
There was also a "rehash"(without credit given) of the article in Fine Scale Modeler sometime in the last two years.
I have used many of the ideas in Paul's article and all of them have been easy to use and effective.

I've read that article. I fully intend to use the information about different patterns. I really wanted to try that other technique, then texture it with the appropriate pattern (in this case the Dragon Panther A). I'll keep looking. Thanks for your help.
