Greeting all,

There are some figures that I am working on at the moment. Not for pier 51 they are for other projects. Some I hope will fit into the LCA I built some time ago and the other probably will make their way on to the back of my IG Tanks.

Changed a couple of heads, hands and arms and still more work needed but at leat I got a good start on them as they have been sitting for about 18 months :-) :-) :-)

Apologies for the poor quality pics, still need to make some weapons and finish of the painting/weathering

Cheers

"Greetiongs" to you too Alan!! :-) Working on the accent??? :-)

Never knew these figures existed! Are they still available? Some great poses, that could be very useful. What "brown" colour have you used? Are those the large Accurate Armor crates, they´re sitting on?
Sorry for all the Qs, its what happens when one sees something one likes!

Hi Frank,

Opps slipped fingers lol, lol.

The figs are from Cromwell Models. They aren't displayed on their site and are OOP but I spotted them in an article and contacted Cromwells and they still have some left, so send them an email and Gordon may still have some around.

The crates are the AA ones which I posted before. Sorry about the poor quality pics but the poses are good and so is most of the detail. One or two of the weapons needed repalced but with a bit more work they should turn out OK.

The base coat is Tamiya Earth Brown with some washes of Burnt Umber/matt black and highlights will be with Vajello English Uniform.. Sorry the flash makes everything look shinny.

Their are 10 different figures, I replaced a few arms and hands and a couple of heads as some of them will be Commandos but they are a good set with nice detail.

I know Cromwell had a bit of a death recently but I've always found Gordon to be very helpful.

Hope that helps a bit.

Here's the link for their web site, phone or email Gordon and you might get lucky.

Have a grand New Year.

They'll look good on the back of a Goodwood Sherman Alan.

You are not allowed to post so many pictures of a second fantastic project when you have a huge Pier 51 project that I'm still trying to get a handle on the finished playout. I see so many Pier 51 items I'm just dying to see how it all connects together.

Now you tell us you are starting another cryptic project as well????

Hi Pat,

Nice picture. That was their intended destination, the back of my IG Shermans. lol, lol. It's just taken me ages to get around to starting them and I might use 2 or 3 in the back of the LCA on the benches, so I had changed a couple of heads.

BTW try this for slings. Take some 0.4mm lead wire and roll it flat with a wallpaper roller and you will have a nice length of flexible sling that is consistant in width for all your weapons.

I had been trying to think of a way to get consistent width and an easy way to mass produce. Worked for me, be christened 'The McNeilly Manoeuvre' lol,,lol Works well for straps too.

Cheers

Hi DJ,

I just made 7 slings for rifles and 2 for Bren Guns with none of the usual cursing and scrapped attempts. I should be able to bend the wire without any major problems to suit the figures when the weapons are fitted. (I hope :-) :-) :-) )

So far so good -

Cheers

Hi DJ,

Although not finished yet here's a pic of one of the figs.

I added a strap for the bren tools bag and the strapfor the bren, again sorry the quality is so poor.

Cheers
