Hey there revellers
Want to know what the small 'rod' is in the centre of the glacis plate?
Oh, and if the censor got the bum's rush for his efforts :-)

Hi Bradley J,

I think this "rod" can be a hold for a spare road wheel.

Hope,that helps.

Greetings,Nils.

D'OH! Dank für das Unterstreichen meiner Aufsicht...
Of course it is... I guess I'm just sooo used to seeing them mounted and unused...
Would it be fair to assume it is an early DV M4?
There are a few things featured that lead me to believe this...
Cheers
Brad

Look in front of the driver's face. Isn't that the periscope cover? which would mean it's not DV.

You know, I think you may be on to something!
Take pity, I'm into my 4th day of gastroenteritis and it must be affecting all my abilities...
Getting to bed at 10:30pm on new years eve didn't help either...

Get well soon!
So, where did the picture come from? I am very curious about the damage to the head lights, guards and right fender. It looks like the tank took a beating!

Well since it has a Cullin Hedgerow device fitted the damage might be a result of being driven though the thick hedgerows of Normandy.

Yep, that would be my summation...
I imagine the headlights would be removed completely, and the brush guards left to fend for themselves! The chunk of sod on the T1 variant would indicate fairly recent usage...
And yep, I woke up this morning feeling like a new girl! Think my fever broke, and now have the energy to focus on things: ie modelling!

Having had an opportunity to give a headlight guard a test bang, and knowing that the metal is thick, it would have to be a thick tree truck to take off the left side one that way. But it is a logical explanation.

Glad your feeling better. We were passing around a virus over here that kept me miserable for most of last week.
