Were the mudflaps on Allied Halftracks made of rubber or steel plate. I made mine appear as rubber, is this wrong?

Thanks

Rick,

Probably 95% of the pictures I have of the US Halftracks (M3/M16) show them without rear mud flaps. For those that do have them, they appear dark but I'm not sure. The one decent close-up clearly shows the flaps below metal "back wall." This particular one looks like a restored M16 with a two-tone camo pattern. The mud flaps are almost a brownish (very different color from the camo) color. They way they hang does not make them look like metal but some other material. Heck, they actually look like canvas.

I have the M16 too, but will probably remove them from the back wall.

HTH some,

Mike
