Hi to all.

Question about the Italeri kit of this vehicle.
On the boxart and instructions, there is a possibility to lay the sides of the platform horizontal. Just curious if they were supported by any way and how would they stay levelled?

Edit: changed vertical to horizontal

Welcome to Armorama

AFAIK, the slotted sides of the Maultier bed should be similar to those of standard cargo trucks. If so, right and left sides are linked to the front and rear sides with some kind of hasps ( or bolts... I'm not sure about the right word ).
The picture below showing the cargo bed corner of a russian ZiS 5 truck should make things clearer :

Frenchy is correct, the sides would have had some sort of fixing system as shown in the picture of the ZIS truck, a more realistic scale representation can be found in a PE set for the vehicle over the plastic mouldings.

Just realized using the word vertical on the first post so sorry about that.

How about when the sides are taken apart of the front and back, and are horizontal? This is what I originally meant but got mixed up.

Guess the possibilities are limited to supports under the sides like on this famo:

or meaby metal bars pulled from under the truck and the sides are put on those.

Appreciate your help

So THAT is an interesting question

Maybe this picture can give us a clue :

If the front "side" of the cargo bed is removed the end of the chain must be attached elsewhere, maybe on the back of the cab but to say the truth I don't see why the front side of the cargo bed would be removed as the Maultier cab would be in the line of fire in any case...

Guess that's the only "authentic" solution. Just thinking if the chain would be strong enough, but then I guess you'd use stronger one if it broke.

Thanks a lot for the help!
