Hi lads
I'm turning my US M4A2 into a M4, and all the work centres on the glacis arrangement (Don't talk me out of it, it's nearly finished!) but really need a definitive pic showing the glacis, especially the weld lines...
Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Have checked out the tank photosites that I know of, and what they had was good but not perfect...
Cheers for the help
Brad

Brad,
You are a brave man. I have searched all my photos but come up with nothing you probably don't already have, and nothing with good pics of weld seams.
I would like to see how you did it. Photo's?
Good luck.
Tony

Brad, the new DML Sherman III is an EXACT match in the glacis for an M4 of that plants manufacture (Baldwin from Memory). It is the easiest route to an M4, much less painful than starting with Tamiyas.
Drop me a line at abowie - at - bigpond dot com and I'll email what i have.
Cheers
Al

Baldwin made dv M4's until the end of production. See Steve Zaloga's new "Modelling the US Army M4 (75mm) Sherman medium tank".
These also had the vertical upper rear plate and U-shaped antenna pot.
See this review for comments on the DML Sherman III:

Thanks for the help lads... I know this is probably not the most fruitful approach to a conversion, but I DO have magicsculpt :-)
Oh, and what shape are the drivers' boxes at the front under the applique armour plate? Same as the MkIII?

Yes, the M4 and M4A2 had the same kind of cast hoods.
