Hi all,
I will shortly start building Emhar's W.W.1 MkIV "male" heavy tank to use in a possible dio.
My query is how were the brushwood bundles on the tanks carried?I know that these were used to fill up large trenches,but weighing in at a tonne they must have devised a very tight system to keep them intact on the tank!
Regards,
Shay

Hello Shay,
difficult to find informations about this one. I know, that the fascines were fastened with chains or cable on the top rail. But the driver had to be able to release it...and i don't know how they did it.
On this picture, you can see another kind of fascine (a crib)...but im pretty sure it worked similiar with the brushwood.

Kia ora Shay;
Like Jan, not much info, at the bottom of this link there is a good photo of what I think you are after.
The Landships site may also be of some help to you.
cheers
David
