Who makes a SU-152 in 1/35th scale ~ not the later ISU-152?

I got one from Eastern Express, kit number 35103. It is a little rough, but if combined with a Trumpeter KV could be better.

The Eastern Express SU-152 kit is rough, but buildable. The engine deck screens look pretty terrible, just raised blobs, really. Eduard did a photoetch set for the kit, but it is out of production--a few mail order houses still have it, though. That said, Eduard's Zoom set for the Trumpeter KV-1/KV-2 has a much better set of engine screens.
The kit's vinyl track is a bit simplified on the inner face, and unfortunately has fine flash around all the edges and openings. In vinyl, this is maddeningly difficult to remove cleanly, and is a good reason to swap out the tracks. The SU-152's tracks are the narrower type adopted for the final series of the KV family, the KV-1S and KV-85, as well as the later Stalins, so the Model Kasten tracks for the Stalin will also work here (either pattern). A couple of companies offer the 152mm howitzer in turned metal. Given its complexity, and the roughness of the kit's plastic parts, it's a good investment.
As for kitbashing, there really isn't much of anything in the early KV's from Trumpeter that could be adapted. Wheels, tracks and most fittings were different. Many were hoping Trumpeter would finish up the KV family with the KV-1S, KV-85 and SU-152, but they seem to have changed directions, and I have reluctantly jumped into the EE offerings.

I have seen the EE kit built up very nice with the aformentioned changes - Fruil tracks, Eduard PE, and a Model Point barrel, which I recomend and have bought personally for my future build.

To the non-Soviet modeler, what is the difference between the SU and ISU 152?
thanks

In short:

KV-1 chassis for the SU-152
JS-2 chassis for the ISU-152

I'll let the real experts give you the finer details

Azimut also makes a resin conversion for the Tamiya KV kit. I haven't been able to make it fit properly. I suggest the EE kit. It can be built just fine. I have done their KV-85 and it turned out nice with some aftermarket bits.

Good luck!

Bronco is going to release SU-152, and hope this will be better than future Trumpeter one, that has already some issues. http://modelarmour.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2331:bronco-su-152-kv-14-spg&catid=34:new-releases&Itemid=58

Trumpeter has announced an "SU-152".
You can find it here

Is this the needed version? (yes, it is a "late version")
I read now, that the ISU-variant was mounted on an IS-tank, while the SU-version was mounted on an KV-tank.

Perhaps the link could help you.

Greetings...
Soeren
