Can anyone help me find the correct sand color for all US Armored Vehicles in Iraq, and who manufactures it? Thanks- SSG Martin S. Kaufman

During Operation Desert Storm ('90-'91, a.k.a ODS or Desert Storm) the colors varried. For vehicles that were already sand or were painted sand in the US, Testors Model Master Sand, FS 33531 is correct. Most of the vehicles were quickly painted sand in Saudi Arabia though and were painted with a sand colored paint that was bought locally. Testors Gulf War Army/Marine Gulf Sand is a pretty good color match.

US Army?Marines Gulf Armor Sand comes in both Acrylic and Enamel. I have both, but the Number is worn off the enamel bottle. The acrylic however is # 4812. their acryl line is very nice. it brushes on smooth and sprays smooth through an air brush. You might want to give it a try. Regular model master sand in enamel (fs33531) is model master # 1706
