Hey all,

The LHS has this kit on the shelf and I can't seem to find any reviews anywhere on it.

Does anyone here have experience building this kit?
How does it compare to Tamiya's (without the plow)

cheers

Hi Rick
Tamiya's kit is a Merkava 1 not a Mk2, the vehicles are quite different.
The Academy Merkava 2 is a good kit in my opinion, a nice replica even built straight from the box. The main flaws are on the side skirts, they need a refinement because the support springs are too thick, and the missing of the balls-and-chains curtain under the turret basket.

Ciao

The kit has mine rollers and not the mine plow.

It's a pretty good kit overall and of course you can use a PE set and some Friul tracks to make it even better.

There are several aftermarket producers that make the ball and chain armour.
