I have seen there are some group builds for WWII subjects.
Are there any for modern armor? Would anyone be interested in doing one?
I would propose Mid-East armor (maybe from a certain time period) as that would allow for many types of vehicles.
Anyone into this, or is it a dumb idea?

Nope - not a dumb idea at all. I'm always interested in a modern armor group build. I don't know how the current HMMWV group build is faring, but that's no reason not to have another one.
For me, "modern" means everything post-WW II There's a lot of periods and conflicts that one could use for a theme...

Good idea, I would try to narrow the focus to a specific conflict/time period. Like 7 Day War, Yom Kippur, etc.
There was an Abrams group build as well as the HMMWV build Gunnie mentions.

Well, if there's interest, how about a vote on one of the Arab/Israel conflicts?
I would like to do my M50 or M51, so that's my bias!
Maybe we can get some responses.
Steve
PS - Josh seems to be quite an expert, so this would be a big help with this choice.

I didn't know the IDF M60 Magach Group Build was planned, but, I'm interested in joining in and learning some more about Israeli armor...
