Hi guys,
so here it is, my first Panther ....! The kit its from Dragon Num. 6168.., compared to the usual Dragon standards the above mentioned kit its quite poor..! No etched parts at all , no alu barrel , no interior details , no towing cables and so on. Anyway its still a nice kit , all the parts are fitting very well , and it has been a lot of fun to build.., also because it was my first attempt to "the big cats category tanks"...!!!
The engine grills , the towing cable , and other small parts have been added to the model from the spare parts box (... God bless it...) . The zim is made with milliput , and the numbers and crosses have been hand painted due to the fact that decals didnt stick to the zim very well.
The model has been painted with acrylics weathered with oils ( pinwashes ) and pigments from MIG.
I hope you will enjoy ..!
Regards,
Alex.

Outstanding work! I am especially impressed by your weathering. I'd be really interested to know how you did the chips and scratches, including the scratches on the schurzen. You didn't overdo it but applied just the right amount. Bravo.

Thanks guys,
Michael, the weathering has been done with pigments applied to the model with some enamel thinner. The chips are a bit more "challenging" they have been done freehand using an oil colour ( black ) with the smallest brush i had...belive me, you really need a lot of patience and obviously a magnifier...!! It took two days..!! But i think that the result its quite realistic. I've tried other techniques but this is the one i prefer.
Thanks for the comments and good work...!!

Nice one!
The zimmerit covering is great, and the numbers are very well painted!
(I would write in Italian too, but people must understand what we say!)

Thanks everyone guys, i'm glad you like it..! I've been thinking of a nice way to realize zimmerit, i've seen different zim types ( putty , hot irons , aftermarket products , and so on....) but i had in my box this Milliput "thing" quite new , so i thought ..."mmmhhh...why not..." ( also 'cause i saw an interesting feature on an Italian site where the guy was doing zim using Milliput...and here it is..!!
Giacomo , thanks for your comment , and don't worry about writing in English , its a good chance for me to improve my poor grammar..!!
And yes, i think i'll need a lot of luck in the Contest since there are so many nice models there..!!
Thanks again.

Excellent Alessandro. Love the zimmerit, camo, weathering .. in fact everything. I admire your skills at free hand painting the numbers and details. Have never been brave enough to try these things. I like the beat-up appearance on the schurzen ... did you use the kit parts or some soft metal? Good luck in the competition!

Very nice Alessandro,
I hope I can make my Panther look as good as yours. You have done a great job of the zimmerit and done well hand painting your markings, well done.

HI Frank,
thanks for the comment, the side skirts are the one from the kit ( very nice parts indeed, made from thin plasticard ) i've just bended them a bit to achive a more "real" look.
Regards,
Alex.
