Hi All,
I've been working (off and on) on Tamiyas M2A2 ODS for some time now and have been trying to track down a replacement after-market turned barrel for it. The model is going nicely and is being updated with the eduard update set. Because of the pleasing results (by my standars anyway) I really wanted to put a turned barrel onto is as I've never used one before. The other reason is that I didn't do a great job of glueing the 2 Tamiya barrel halves together. I don't have the instructions or refererence in front of me but if I'm correct I should be purchasing the unfluted version of the barrel for ODS?
Anyway about a year ago I ordered a barrel from Model Point which at the time had "temporarily" sold out. Nearly a year later their site still tells me that they are still sold out! I have sent numarous emails but never got any response from Model Point regarding the restocking of this barrel.
Does anyone know of another source where a turned barrel can be purchased (either in Australia or Internationally) for this model?
Thanks very much
Matt

Hi Matt,
I too am working on the Tamiya M2A2 Bradley and I have found a lot of reference photo's using the Fluted barrel.
A good reference book is the latest concord publication
Thunder Run .
There is numerous eamples of Bradley's with fluted barrels
I have just ordered the Barrel Depot fluted barrel from Hobby easy and expect it shortly.
I suggest to use the fluted barrel because in a review from PMMS web site advises the barrel drops straight into the Tamiya mantlet with very few alterations .Check here
http://perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/barreldepot/bd35050.htm
I have gone to great lengths to accurately do a Bradley from the last gulf conflict 2003/04 .
I have also printed out 60+ pages from an article from the
Vodnick web page .
Excellent review to update the M2A2
http://vodnik.net/index.htm
I am using ...
M2A2 Eduard Etch
Legends M2A2 accesories set
Verlindens accesory set .Including etch .
Nemrods M2A2 Bradley figure set
with a Combination of Warriors figures.Bit of a mix and Match
Also awaiting ....
Blast running gear and tracks
http://perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/blast/bl35023-25k.htm
Barrel depot fluted barrel
AFV club big foot track
Check here
http://perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/afvclub/afv35133.htm
I'm going to use the AFV club individaul track with the Blast running gear .
I think the Blast models tracks should have been done as individaul link
My personal preference that is.
Matt I hope this helps
Cheers
Michael

Matt,
Armorscale have an unfluted barrel which includes a resin replacement for the mantlet. Part number is B35-020.
If you are looking for a local (read Australian) supplier, try Avenue Hobbies in Chatswood (Sydney) - They had this item in stock when I was last there three weeks ago. List price according to the website is (Aud)$11.40
(Edit: I have no affiliation with this supplier apart from being an occasional customer)

Thanks all very much for your responses and recomendations. I've elected to order a Barrel Depot fluted version from hobby easy.
Michael the version you're building up sounds as if it's going to be amazing. Keep us posted on your progress mate.
All I need to do now is find a bit of time between building a house, trying to seek better employment in engineering and currently working a 60-70hr week to do some modeling.
