Hi here are some pictures of my first diorama. What do think? I built is while my dad was working on his tree.

Your dio looks good. Boy, I wish I was your age when I started doing this instead of how old I am now and just getting into this hobby! But I guess way back then, I was walking 10 miles to school dodging horse buggies and those crazy Model T cars - no camo on those babies, just black!

Hope I can pick up ideas and useful info from you

Good on ya mate keep it up. It is all in the imagination as you say. Remember that some of the most simple scenes are often the most effective. This piece is a great start. Excellent work.

Maybe you could make some branches next time..... it adds just that tiny bit of extra colour and contrast such small, but lovely, scenes need.....

Nice dio !

Good job Pickleman, Even thinking about starting in 1/72 scale hurts my eyes, let alone completing a dio.

Pickelman... nice job, especially for a first effort. The fallen tree is especially effective.

A few tips to improve your next effort... make sure you keep your rifle barrel straight! You can usually re-straighten a plastic rifle with your fingers... just go slow.

As for your foliage... try adding some paint variations to the various branches and leaves... it will add color and realism.

As mentioned earlier, I wish i would have begun working on dioramas when I was your age... keep up the good work and you could be the next Shep Paine!

Good work Pickleman!
I like the composition, good action going on there!
Then, some pointers for the next dio: The scale of the vegetation looks different from your figures. There are some nice roots in the garden or forest, just dig up some small green thingies that nobody will miss and youŽll find very fine roots that will be ideal for tree or bush branches. Cut off some of those fine roots, wash them, let dry and spray all over with hair spray. Sprinkle some herbs from your kitchen over it. Dried oregano will do. If your leafs are still too big, ground those herbs in your hand before applying them.

Your groundwork looks outstanding! Very nice work!
I hope to see more of your work in the future...
