Has anyone built this kit, and if so, what are your imp[ressions of it? I started this thing on Saturday and have been knifing, sanding, and filing seams on the wheels and suspension since. It seems as thought Tamiya didn't do a very good job on their Panther molds in general. I was told by the local hobby store owner to steer clear on the Tamiya Panthers, so I thought that I'd get a Jagdpanther.....a totally different model, right? Wrong! Its obvious from the spare parts that all they did was take the Panther kit sprues and a different chassis and put them in the same box. I'll continue to build this, mostly because I've got the PE on the way and it has potential in general, but it won't be my favorite kit of all time, thats for sure.
I just did Tamiya;s PzKpfw IVJ, and it wasn't at all this poorly molded. What are your thoughts?

I don't know if the hobby store owner was talking about the old Tamiya Panther A or what, but I can tell you that the newer Tamiya Panther G series is very nice. I've built both the early and late G and have the steel wheeled version waiting in the wings, and I thought the molding and the fit was top notch. Depending on the level of detail you want to build to, there are always things you can do or add to injection molded kits, but the Tamiya Panther G builds into a nice kit OOTB IMHO.

bebe..You probably have the old tamiya kit. Although the # indicates a newer one, I have built the new JagdPanther and it's a very nice kit. The New Panthers,as Kelly has mentioned, are also really nice. Jeff
